OBJECTIVE

Introduce the participants to mathematical tools, and particularly geometric ones, used in certain recent developments of Quantum Field Theory. The School will be centered around the following topics: Dirac Operators, Geometric Quantization, Seiberg-Witten Theory and Duality in field theory.

PREREQUISITES

The school is aimed at both mathematicians and physicists. The expected prerequisites are approximately MSc level mathematics or physics.

DATE AND LOCATION

The School will take place in Villa de Leyva, Colombia, from july 12 to july 30, 1999. Villa de Leyva is a lovely colonial village with a population of 15000, about three hours eastward from Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. This is a well- known site for international tourism and is, in fact, considered one of Colombia's main attractions for foreigners.
